Madurai The whole city is laid out in the shape of a lotus flower with the Meenakshi temple in the center. The high point is the hall of a thousand pillars, which was built around 1560. Other places of interest are the Tirumalai Nayak Palace and the Mariamman Teppakkulam Tank. Kumarakom The voyage takes you to the famous rich green, sleepy little village. Kumarakom on the Vembanad Lake is an experience that will be truly exhilarating. Laze around at the resort. Go for an Ayurveda massage to rejuvenate yourself. A short houseboat cruise on the famous backwaters with lunch on board is a dream of all. Cochin truly a museum city. Vasco de Gama first arrived in Cochin in 1502.
